    Wow, you have some amazing friends Brent.

    I am with you on CJ and Asher, man what a story that is, and will be... God is so good at creating the best story lines.

    Alex's prayer request really brought tears to my eyes. It feels close to my own heart, and I will be (and am) lifting he and his family up.

    James... Wow, I wonder what it feels like to be that far from your family, and in the middle of such a battle. I have a feeling I will be learning soon. James, please consider me a prayer warrior for you, full-time. God is moving, hang in there brother.

    so when people ask, why do you blog? here's one of the greatest reasons! we so appreciate this and your commitment to pray for our family. we can definitely feel the love & support - God has been so faithful! we'll be praying for james & rhonda, and cj & family. thanks for bringing these stories to light - it will be awesome to watch God work in all our lives.

    Thanks, Bro. I always found myself on the other end of this deal - praying for those who needed prayer. Being on this side sucks, but it is good to have friends that care and are there for you.

    I know Alex and we have been praying and lifting his family up! It is so good to know that everyone will be okay. For everyone else, we will pray. God is Great. Just means he loves these people greatly with all these big challenges...

    Yes, praying too
    for God to calm, if not the storm, then His disiples in it,
    and for them to fix their eyes on Him, not the wind and waves.

    Still, He always answers our cries for 'help' if we do start sinking, and lifts us up to rejoin and bless the others He's called us to 'sail alongside'. Then together we will finish the course stronger than we otherwise would have alone (Gal. 6:2 =).

    Praying and lifting them now...
    Alex- that is a prayer request we all need..even as I pray..I know we need to be faithful to the call, and so much closer to HIM.

    Brent- I have had a call to prayer on my heart all day.

    I have prayed and will continue as the Lord brings each of you to mind.

    We've been "stretched" recently with the trials of life - this encourages me from Max Lucado's, A Gentle Thunder:

    Why does God wait until the money is gone? Why does He wait until the sickness has lingered? Why does He choose to wait until the other side o the grave to answer the prayers for healing?

    I don't know. I only know His timing is always right. I can only say He will do what is best...

    Though you hear nothing, He is speaking. Though you see nothing, He is acting. With God there are no accidents. Every incident is intended to bring us closer to Him.

    Luke 18:7
    God will always give what is right to His people who cry to Him night and day, and He will not be slow to answer them.

    Father God,

    Your will is your will, and you bring peace beyond understanding. Bring comfort on these families as they lean on you in these times of need. Continue to show the love that is deep wide and long and high.
    Father God you are God and God alone. Be the Father they need you to be.

    EPH 3:16-18 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ

    Will have a 'word'.

    It is never what happens to us or our family that matters.. it is how we handle it.

    He is there during the good times as well as the bad it is during the bad that our Faith is 'perfected'. If He turns the heat up it could be to burn off the dross to leave the polished gold underneath.

    Be the gold - not the dross.

    This is a cool post.
    I've been praying for Alex and James (and now CJ) Sometimes praying in front of the computer screen can feel like such an individual experience. Reading this post makes it a very corporate/community thing.
