The reality is that we never introduce anyone leading. even myself. I had a lot of people at the last gathering wanting to know my name. My name around town is always, "the piano guy" :)

Re: Sunday Setlist #5

I almost did a post on Monday titled "Mystery Worship Leader." :)
I've seen Jim lead worship a few times now, but had no idea who he was (I must have missed his introduction weekend). I think both of you do such an awesome job - but in 2 very different ways.
Thanks for solving MY mystery. :)

Re: Sunday Setlist #5

Love ya too Darla :)

Re: Sunday Setlist #5

yeah yeah yeah...it sounded good... but I like the other guy singing better...and I have personal reasons for that..

darla´s last blog post...Can we talk?

Re: Sunday Setlist #5

Stephanie, haha. Whoever is at FOH would direct the booth. So I would be hands off of that during my worship leading weeks.

Re: Sunday Setlist #5

thanks for answering everyone's questions!

now I have another one. On the weeks when you ARE leading from the platform, do you still fill the 'director' role? Or do you have someone else that steps into that?

kim´s last blog post...Worship Reflections 10.05.08

Re: Sunday Setlist #5

Amanda, Haha. Well I looked at it like we only had Drum, Bass and Acoustic. We also usually run 1 or 2 electrics and keys as well.

Tyler, he has a heart of gold and is a great leader. He's also a dang good guitarist and vocalist. He hates that I put this track up, cause he was sick this weekend. You know how that goes :)

Beth, I love hearing how others worship. there is so much diversity and flavor out there. I've been encouraging my teams to get out to other churches in the area and worship with them as well. It is good for us to hear some variety and be encouraged by the bigger body as well.

Jon, that is our audio setup and our audio console. Our lighting rig and Projection system are off to the right out of the picture. we use ProPresenter for Projection. We got rid of Media Shout last Spring and we have never looked back. I am very happy.

Kim, great question and one I needed to ask myself. I still do too much. I have never done great at raising up other leaders (in my opinion) cause I can continue to do what comes naturally or easy to me, when in fact I could get out of the way and let someone else do this. So...

This weekend I was still service programmer and director of the service. Generally the worship leader is the band director and has full say over the arrangements and song selection. Jim picked out the music selection and also planned the arrangements fro the song. During practice, I helped as a producer/director as I heard things that worked well or needed help. Flow of service is usually pretty consistent, but I want to see that change. i am working with a team of people right now that will help program the service. i will then only be a part of it instead of in charge of it. When it comes to resourcing the team, I worked with Jim on charts and then I created the Planning Center event and got the MP3's and charts loaded up for access by the team.

In the long run, I would like to see Jim have more control and leadership over the team in general on weeks he leads. But, Jim also works 9-5, so there will be things that fall back in my lap to help him with time and schedule.

OK, did I even answer the question :)

Fred, We are running a Digidesign Venue, with the Dshow Profile surface. We are running an LE Pro Tools system right now, so tracks are limited, so I did not have any open tracks for room mics this week, but they are there and we use them for the in-ears and for general recordings. Also, their placement is a bit off right now, so we need to work on that to be more effective in hearing the congregation.

Re: Sunday Setlist #5

hey man - sounds and looks good ... how 'bout mixing in some of your house tracks - I wanna hear those people singing!

What console are you using?

And of course ... thanks for being in Sunday Setlists w/ us!

For the Kingdom,
Fred McKinnon
www.fredmckinnon.com
www.theworshipcommunity.com

Fred F. Our is only that, plus 1 electric and piano usually, not much more (and we just recently got the additional acoustic player).

Creative way to post your set list!
