I can't live without my wife, Leslie Brooke. She's one-of-a-kind, so if she was taken away from me I would be alone.
While installing electronics on boats, I can't live without my Merrell Vapors. Ugly but effective. If they were stolen, I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat.
On guitar, I'm using the Ebow every set, if I can. I could live without it, but I'm glad that I don't have to.

Sweets...I'd actually get skinny again if they got taken away.
I'm sure my answer is revealing my true priorities. It's an ugly truth...but truth nonetheless.
My car. A) its quite nice but on a slightly less materialistic approach it provides me means to earn money, attend an amazing church, fulfill my educational requirements, and get me to my Reserve unit - all of which play an intricate part of my life.
Sarcastic answer though? My laptop. We're steadily progressing towards marriage with all the time that we spend together :)

What would I do if they were taken away? I don't even like to think about it.
On the not so serious side. I couldn't live without Peanut butter. I eat something with Peanut butter at least 3-4 times a week. Peanut butter on waffles, with warm syrup...YUM...
What would I do without peanut butter? Not eat it.
Couldn't live without trials, as much as they stink at times they are also what make me who I am today! What would I do if they were taken away, I wouldn't grow!

I have discovered these last few days I can't live without caffeine. Specifically diet pepsi and sweet tea. Without them, I'm a tired sleepy lump on the couch clutching my laptop to keep my mind awake. Seriously.

I couldn't live without Jake and the boys. I'm sure I could be alive, but I couldn't live. Make sense? It hurts my heart just to think about it.
What can't I live with out? My family...like Bwan said..I would be alive but I wouldn't live...and of course...JESUS..HE is the breath I take, and nothing works without HIM..

Physically: 1. air (breath) 2. water 3. food (though I can live a lot longer without it than I think I can)
Spiritually: The Holy Spirit (especially manifested through worship and the Word) [It's interesting that the Biblical word for Spirit is 'breath' and compared to wind in Jn. 3:8, as well as water in Jn. 7:38-39]
Emotionally: Hope

Jesus, Jerry....One can't be, the other I cherish each day in case he is...
Of course if I was with out God I'd be as confused as pigs on ice. On a lighter note, I love my dog. She gives me/our fam a lot of calm. Even though she is a spaz sometimes. :0)
Caffeine and then sweets. If taken away, I'd have a headache and a craving but then I move on ... living really.
Also, (or actually) any member of my family all of whom I'm guilty of taking for granted. If someone close to me was taken away, everything else (including caffeine and sweets) would be relegated to insignificance.
For me, I have to go with the obvious, like Nor and D, air, food, water. and yes...I'd die.
Spiritually, I could not go without the Spirit's guidance. Teaching me. Showing me right from wrong. Reminding me of who I belong to. Without that...I'd be empty.
Other aspects of life...
My family. Love them. We are best friends. I'd be completely alone without them.
Technology. Love it. Without it...I would be bored.
Music. Creates so much emotion for me. Is a huge avenue of creativity. Without it...I wouldn't be who God's created me to be.

i'd probably just sell everything except for my 1976 ford...pack my hiking bag and camera & never come back.

and Are any of us even interested in growing to that 'level of faith' if something similar was required of us ??

D, I hear you. I am not sure people are saying they are not willing to walk through the trial if God lays it at their feet. I don't hear that. I hear true feelings.
If I lost Tammy, I would be heartbroken and in shock. My whole life would change. Routines, feelings, schedules, friendships. But none of that would change my faith, and in that situation, my trust in Him would have to grow even deeper. He is the only place to find true peace in a tragic situation. But, I would change. And my life would be completely different. But maybe that's what He would want.

Yes, I totally agree. I guess just the older one gets the more you realize that is a 50/50 prospect (losing your spouse before you die yourself).
It is true (as Mama & Papa so beautifully shared) that love grows stronger and deeper, but if our love grows stronger and deeper for Him first, we can better handle the other. I've just seen too many instances where one spouse had no will to live without the other (even Christians)and that their whole focus for heaven was to be reunited to their spouse (more even than with the Lord)!
God does initiate trials to change us for sure, but it was a CHOICE for Abraham, and I'm just asking, do we desire/pursue that kind of faith to be as willingly obedient as he was?
Your last few sentences indicate you do desire that as He wills. I do also, though the 'living of it' is pretty scary compared to the 'talking about it' for sure!

I see this as well. It is fact that many older people who lose a spouse often just give up on life. That is sad.
And yes, my heart is to accept whatever He wills, but I am sure I cannot speak totally to my response until I am there. So, I will do me best to be prepared to thank Him, no matter what comes my way.
