I work best with my wife when we are spontaneous. When we have date nights we just go, and do whatever... This last one we went to Kohl's and Target after dinner... But we were together, and connected.
If you have a budget, then set it per day... Then be spontaneous...
Go get happy meals one day for the both of you if you have to.
ha! the 2 times a year i eat at mc donalds i actually DO get happy meals. :D then i sell the toys for a quarter each at our yearly yard sale.
hmmm...i have an idea! why don't we not spend any money. stay home and enjoy the quiet.
....then we get bored doing that we can hang those mirrors that are still in the garage, we (you) can put the ceiling fans up in the bedrooms. OH...and remember you need to switch the toilet paper holder in the guest bathroom. and....well. i'll be back later with more ideas
ckroboth, some of the best "dates" with my wife are exactly as you've described. we love our errand runs and coffee runs. Just being with her is the best.

One day, pack a lunch, dinner, whatever, get a bottle of wine, soda, water, whatever, put her in the vehicle and just take off. Have a nice romantic time just sitting somewhere and reconnecting. I'll send you a piece of the Blue Ridge Parkway if that will help. Have a great week
Papa and Mama, you guys are awesome! I am so honored that your thinking through all of this with me! You've got some great ideas and Papa, I promise to honestly ask Tam how I am doing in my communication. Pf course, it sounds like if I ask her what she wants to do for 2 hours, that she already has a list running Haha! Of course, if that's what she would like, that;s what she will get :)

Heck, you've got a week.
If I were married and had kids and had that much time to spend with my wife, we'd have to send a cab to pick them up when it was over.
B, I think you should cook every night. EVERY. NIGHT. :D
Without kids, Jake and I like to drive around or just walk the mall, but one of those costs a lot of money nowadays and the other makes you want to have more money. HA!! So, maybe not those two things. Hmmm, I'm not really any help here huh??? heehee
*Stay up late doing....whatever... and then sleep in! (Can you sleep in if you want B?) *Find a way to swing going out to dinner at least once. *Grab some Dutch, go to Jacksonville, and just walk around peeking in the shops and stuff. Aren't the museums down there free or at least cheap? Ahhh, I miss J'ville. *oooh, go to Lithia and feed the ducks!! YES!! DO that!!! *Go out to Shady Cove and go to Phil's Frosty then go down to the river and sit and chat a while. ;-) *Take a walk at night when it's dark. Those are nice.
Okay, I'm done. Now I just miss home even more. Crap. :lol:
Well i know one thing you two could do together that's free and has not been taxed yet!

I initially agreed with NorEaster's suggestion but then I wondered what you would do with the other 4 days, 23 hours, 57 minutes! :-)
The last time we were sans kids, we pulled a mattress out into the living room, rented a couple flicks (no, not THAT kind!), popped popcorn, ate candy, and had a weekend long slumber party. It was fun to act like kids again and I was free to march around in my boxers without fear of having it posted on the internet!!

Stop by Harry & David's for some fresh pears to eat while you're strolling through the roses at Jackson & Perkins Test & Display gardens.
Pack a lunch and take a road trip to all 5 covered bridges in the area.
Take a ride on a scale train at the Railroad Park.
Hike Crater Lake.
Go to Snoop Doggs's West Fest. You know you want to. Tam will LOVE it. Trust me. :-D

givemejesus, the "slumber party" thing sounds fun. Of course we have a little TV and DVD player in the bedroom, so we could do it there.
The Medford ideas are fun. But, the Snoop thing sounds fun. My brother is actually mixing Snoop tomorrow in a studio project. That'll be interesting :)

Brandy, the train park is definitely more of a kids thing and unless you want to spend a lot of money, Harry & David isn't that great. Killer foods and drinks, but LOTS of money.
Okay, this is dumb, but when I read this: "Go to Snoop Doggs’s West Fest" I immediately thought about this time Teresa (SIL) went to his restaurant in Portland and I thought maybe that was it.... okay totally dumb. Nevermind. :lol: HAHA!!

Brandy, he is here tomorrow. It is actually a live show. My brother is mixing the main show with Snoop head engineer. Evan will be doing the openers including a guy named Warren G, which Evan has done some studio work with. They are actually tuning the PA system right now (it's at the fair) and Evan is playing Michael Jackson. You can hear it perfectly. It cracks me up. I called him and I told him to play beat it. He did..Haha! It's kind of funny that I can listen to him playing tunes over a PA 2 miles away :shock:
And you just go with that "only twice" thing :)

Wow. I'm an idiot. I make a point about not having my walking around in my underwear posted on the internet by my kids by posting it in the comments of a blog on the INTERNET! D'oh!!!
YEs B, I'll keep that "only twice" thought going for as long as I live. That's what I tell my mom too..."Only three times, I swear" ;-) :oops:
During the fair, you'll also be able to hear all of the concerts at night and see the fireworks clearly. We'd sit out in our driveway at night and listen and watch. It was fun. *sigh* ;-)
Oh, I get it. You want to know what to do with the other 23h54m over the next couple days.
duh! my bad. Go rafting on the Rogue River. Got a tent? do some camping at Crater Lake. Get outdoors. Unplug!!!! (seriously). Try a couple days without electronics to really get back in touch with each other (that goes for you too, Tam!)
